Continuing our list of…well…read the title, buddy.

# 8. Marty Booker

Even at the darling age of 31, many – including myself — consider wide receiver Marty Booker an upgrade over the departed Muhsin Muhammad. In fact, the former Dolphin had his best season in 2002 as a member of the Chicago Bears, accumulating 1,189 yards receiving on 97 catches and scoring 6 touchdowns to boot. Those stats were good enough to earn him a Pro-Bowl nod — the last Bears receiver to be given the recognition.

This season, Booker will be counted on to lead an inexperienced but promising corp of young receivers. As the only veteran on the team that has demonstrated consistent playmaking ability – much like Muhammad did in ’05 – Booker will need to earn the number one job early and become the go-to guy for either Rex Grossman or Kyle Orton.

Moreover, Booker has shown he can perform in even the worst of situations, catching 50 balls last year for what was a horrendous Miami offense. Fully expect him to be a role model for Earl Bennett, Devin Hester, and Mark Bradley and play a pivotal part in their development as number two, three and four options in 2008.
