While it’s not going to push Kyle Orton, the signing of former Northwestern and Panthers quarterback Brett Basanez ensures another Bears third-string quarterback’s friends and family can very conveniently attend preseason games. Last year, Southern Illinois alum Nick Hill took a few snaps for the hometown team. Seriously though, can we approach finding talent less like a radio station sweepstakes?
