Are You Ready For The ‘Iowan Party Bowl’ Twice A Year?
When Sage Rosenfels was traded to the Vikings last month, the most obvious reaction was of his likely anointment as the Vikes’ new starting quarterback.
However, if you dig a little deeper, you’ll find the bigger story is that the trade has set the stage for a two times-a-year, head-to-head quarterback battle royale between two Iowans who know how to party.
You see, Rosenfel’s new team is in the same division as the Chicago Bears, who are frustratingly destined to be led off and on by Kyle Orton for the next two seasons.
They both wear No. 18, Orton hails from Altoona, Iowa, and Sage from Maquoketa, but the only thing I care about is if Sage will do any better to meet the Orton par-tay standard than the picture to the left.
No bottle of Jack? No drool on the chin? Not even a pair of cop glasses?
I’m guessing once Rosenfels has spent a few weeks with the organization that brought us the love boat scandal, we’ll start to see some stronger efforts.
Watch out NFC North, things just got a whole lot more…whatever things get in Iowa.
