After Short Visit With Chiefs; Mike Brown Lured Back To Chicago, Signs One-Year Deal

Within minutes of the Kansas City Chiefs hosting veteran free safety Mike Brown–the first team he’s visited since he became a free agent three months ago–Brown heard a familiar sound. It was “Don’t Pull Your Love” by Glen Campbell, the ringtone assigned to coach Lovie Smith’s personal number.
“I was a little surprised to get a call from Coach Smith. For one, it was rather odd timing. I hadn’t even made it out to the field yet; I was actually getting ready in the Kansas City locker room,” Brown said. “On the other hand, it was perfect timing because what Coach Smith had to say made it impossible for me to practice for Coach Haley. I just packed up my stuff and left.”
What Coach Smith had to say was surely something to the effect of, “OhmyfuckingGod, please come back, Mike Brown. We have Josh Bullocks and Glenn Earl and I just… don’t… know (uncontrollable sobbing).”
The new deal that will bring Brown back to the Bears, essentially for a third time, is said to be another one-year deal worth $1.7 million with $400 guaranteed. Brown can earn $1,699,600 if he plays in all 16 games or blows up Marcus Pollard more than just once in ’09.
“I never thought I would be back, but I am more-than-glad that I am,” said Brown. “With Cutler, Pisa, and from what I’m hearing, Plaxico; This is a team tailor-made for a Super Bowl run.”

Hahaha. Seems I remember that Pollard conversation quite well. Hears to hoping that MB30 brings the wood this season for more than 8 games.
This isn’t a true story folks. How do I know? Read the opening paragraph;
