Jay Cutler’s Ability To Make It Rain Would Like To Formally Thank Eli Manning
Reports have Eli Manning on the cusp of signing a six-year, $97.5 million extension with the Giants that would make him–no joshing–the highest-paid quarterback per year in league history. Phillip Rivers and Tom Brady could be next, so you can only imagine what Cutler’s extension could look like in three years, you know, if he pans out. Free rounds for everybody!

In the interest of not leaving another stupidly long post which might get me banned from the site, I’m not even going to go into how much I hate Eli and how overrated he is.
But seriously this theory than pro athlete salaries have to keep going up at ten times the rate of inflation for a few select players to feel important is crazy. When are NFL owners going to grow a pair, come together and set a limit? The current escalation doesn’t really seem to have an end in sight. Football more than any other sport, is a team sport and the only things a salary leads to is not enough money for other key positions and veterans.
When is enough, enough? Why is it that the NFL can have team salary caps, but not also individual player salary caps? Don’t even get me started on rookie salaries, I hope every underpaid, proven veteran D lineman takes it out on Stafford this year and for years to come.
