Peanut Tillman Will Take You On With One Shoulder, And Other Stuff

So, as you may have heard, Peanut Tillman practiced for the first time with the team since his back surgery. It is still unknown whether or not he’ll play in Green Bay Sunday night. With four of their first five games against top level QB’s I’m pretty sure the Bears would welcome Tillman back. I’d rather not make Rodgers and Rothlisburger look like little Peyton Mannings out there, and with the 30th ranked pass defense last year … our secondary has nowhere to go but up. Right???????

More tidbits from over the long weekend after the jump.

With Kevin Jones out for the season, panic has swept over Bears nation about overworking Forte at the running back position (And Adrian Peterson is dancing the happy dance). As the Chicago Tribune points out, with Cutler at the helm of the offense, I’ve got to believe that the Bears will be more of a pass-happy offense despite Lovie’s claims of “Rex is our quarterback” “We are a running football team.”

Caleb Hanie is now firmly entrenched at the number two quarterback position. Not sure how I feel about this. Apparently Hanie had a solid training camp and showed great improvement, but if something happens to Cutler, does anyone think the season won’t tank instantly? I would have liked to see the Bears pick up someone off of the scrap heap (no, not you Cleveland) with a few years of experience to supplement Hanie’s complete lack of NFL game experience.

Lastly, get excited!!!!!!!!! I hope you all were completes sacks on Saturday and watched as much college football as was humanly possible to wet your collective appetites. With Labor Day weekend getting us to Tuesday already, we are just over 48 hours until glorious NFL football is back, and mere days away from Bears/Packers on Sunday night!

I just really can’t believe Kevin Jones is out for the entire season! Sweet needless jump at the end of the play and way to stick the landing!!! If you watch the video in slow mo, it’s seriously ridiculous the way he decides to land straigt legged. Instead of bending his legs or rolling like every other player in league.

I am also not really super stoked on Caleb Haine leading this offense if Jay goes down. There were a lot of decent FA QB’s this year for the Bear’s to have this bad of a immediate contingency plan.
