Bears Beat Seattle Area AYSO Team
Well thank goodness for another kicker who is off his game, right? That’s three games and by my count, five missed field goals from the Packers, Steelers, and Toxic Waste Seahawks. It’s scary to think that the Bears could be 0-3 had those kickers not gone all Florida St. on their teams.
Let’s not focus on that. How about another game winning drive from Cutler & Co??? How about the linebackers stepping up and wreaking havoc in the Seahawks backfield? (Nick Roach’s missed tackles aside). And even though it wasn’t pretty and my prediction was off, Matt Forte with over 100 yards of total offense (66 on the ground) is a good sign.
I loved what Jamar Williams and (for the most part) Nick Roach did, filling in for (insert Bears linebacker here). Forcing a pick that led the three points and, in general, flying all over the field and contributing. I believe this bodes well for the season. The offense looked pretty good after the first quarter, minus the offensive line allowing pressure to get to Cutler, forcing two fumbles. The passing game continues to get more impressive with each game. 21-27 for 247 and 3 TD’s, I’ll take it anyday.
I am concerned about the lack of running lanes available to Forte. I’m worried about this being 2007 all over again. The Bears gained exactly two rushing first downs all game on Sunday, which according to what we all hear from the coaches and players, is exactly the opposite of what kind of team this is (All together now….a RUNNING team). With Detroit this week, followed by a bye week, let’s hope the Bears can figure the run game out. Remember the days where the Bears were always in the top five in the league in time of possession, because we couldn’t throw for shit? I’d like to see something similar to that again. Seriously though we need to get that running game going, because the thought of Matt Forte being let go in countless fantasy football leagues is KILLING me.
Lastly, Seattle. Wow. Blinding, nuclear, lime green is good for an accent color, not the main color of your jerseys. Ze goggles…..Zey do nossing!!!!
