It’s All Fun And Games Until You’re Down To The Bengals 31-3 At Halftime
Put down that cigar, sir, for there will be no celebration tonight. As of this post, there is 12:56 left to play in the third quarter and the Bears are currently trying to figure out which play they’d prefer to use to be stopped short on fourth and one.
Well, the good news is Robbie Gould gets a well-needed rest. Honestly, I’m speechless and dumbfounded. The things that need to be said about this game are better off written in all caps and marred with expletives, therefore … Matt will undoubtedly be writing your post-game analysis.
Fuck game statistics and strategical breakdowns. Bengals had a lot to our little, stinging execution to our fumbles, interceptions, and utter defensive inadequacy. I’m sure someone, somewhere, will talk about the decision to stay with the Cover Two despite it’s repeated failings and vulnerabilities. But, not me. Not today. In fact, the quicker that I press ‘Publish’ on this post, the quicker I might forget Cedric Benson’s fat, grinning face.
Please, feel free to flood the comments section with your thoughts. Obviously, I will not be accepting calls for the remainder of the day …

I had my brother inlaw bad mouth my Broncos here in Denver. I was a Bear’s fan, until I had to here my nutfro inlaw open his mouth about how bad my team was with their new quarterback, and that the Bears had just beat the world champions. Well, at that point I was no longer a Bears fan and really enjoyed watching Atlanta and now the Bengals take the Bears apart. The problem with the Bears is their coach, and it doesn’t help to have a dip-sh*t gun slinger who makes stupid throws and cannot handle a running game or a strategy of anything other than winging the ball with recklessness. All’s I can say is CukeFutler.
this was not jay cutlers fault, all he can do is sling the ball around and hope to win with no run game at all. Bears really wish they had kevin jones right now to spark plays not wolf. and the only person who showed they were playing with heart was lance briggs. where was alex brown where was big wale what about gaines adams? where is he, mark anderson? what happened to you and tommie needs to be gone the knee is no good he will never be as good. The o line blows, the pass game and cutler is all we can count on so let him go sling it around. Hell a guy did it up in green bay for 19 years
You know I am getting real tired of these Denver fans who think this is about Cutler and Orton. It is ridiculous. Orton now has a solid group of receivers and a top defense and a great O line. Cutler has none of that.
I’m not sure how far the Broncos will go this season, really I don’t care. I do know this though, however far they go will have less to do with Orton as it does with all the pieces around him. How quickly those in Denver forget how awful their D was in 2008. Do they really think they would be any worse off in 2009 with Jay Cutler as their QB???
Ridiculous.
Awful, just awful.
The linebackers, secondary, and offensive line need a complete overhaul. And I’m starting to wonder if Cutler will end up closer to Jeff George than Peyton Manning when it’s all said and done.
And this is totally Bears sour grapes on my part, but has Cedric Benson been checked for steroids? I mean, he’s a fat, tip-toeing load of useless one year, then the next his ripped-up, angry, and gaining hundreds of yards a game. How many other times has this song been sung by confirmed juicers?

Clarence I’m not a huge Cedric Benson fan, but it’s kind of stupid to accuse someone of steroids because they’re having success, don’t you think? If you noticed on Sunday, the Bengals were bringing in an extra tackle on running plays and they’re o-line just look a lot better than ours. So I think those two things accounted for at least some of his success.
In college Benson was a four year starter at Texas which is a machine in terms of putting out good running backs. I think he finished with the sixth most yards in division 1-A history and won the award for the nations top back his senior year, so this is hardly a fluke. Unfortunately we could be looking at the beginning of a long successful career in the NFL, that the Bears may have given up on too early.
Let me ask you this, if Matt Forte continues to run the way he has, are you going to want the Bears to cut him or upgrade the O-line?
No Sean, I don’t think it’s stupid to ask the question. In case you haven’t noticed, a LOT of athletes from a lot of sports have been doing it.
My question is unsubstantiated and a bit mean-spirited, but it’s not stupid.
Not to be mean-spirited, but I would classify jumping to conclusions that are unsubstantiated as being not smart or stupid.
In this country, people are innocent until proven guilty and it kind of creates a slippery slope to start randomly accusing people of cheating because they’re having success. There are literally a hundred more logical reasons to attribute Benson’s success to, like the reasons I originally posted for example.
sean is right on this. its the bears fault for giving up on cedric, that doesnt make it fair to accuse him of roids. and they better not cut forte they need to redo the line get rid of pace frank omiyale and roberto garza maybe even olin kreutz. they need a new hard hitting full back, and a new secondary… to bad we dont have any first round picks.
Benson better be on the juice … How else do you explain his clearly shrunken testes?
