Tony Dungy is a personal friend of Lovie Smith, of course he is going to defend him.

Lovie cannot fake it any longer. He has been Virginia McCaskeys' puppet for long enough. (Ever wonder why all of the Bears coaches except Ditka are expressionless puppets--Dooley, Gibron, Pardee, Armstrong, Wanstedt and Juron). This is football, not board meeting, a poker game or crochet.

Look, until the McCaskeys sell the team, we are stuck with the Bears running game (how antiquated), lousy quarterbacks, overpaid players that have BIG heads and play worse than the high school freshman "B" team and these expressionless, dim-witted excuses called coaches. We are doomed.

Unless, someone forms another NFL team in Chicago. Better yet, the State of IL, or maybe Daley (minus the croanyism) should form a corporation and take it public, selling shares to the common man AND IT WILL BE RUN LIKE A BUSINESS, instead of a hobby. This would break NFL football wide open in Chicago. And, then maybe we can have a run of Championship teams instead of one every 25 years!

Nothing seems to bother Lovie Smith and that bothers ME.

It's like he doesn't even exist! But then I see our 4-6 record and realize that he, in fact, does.

I'd like to see a bit more passion from a head coach. Sure Dungy didn't get flustered, but he also won wherever he went. Nothing seems to bother Lovie Smith and that bothers ME. Get someone who's not scared to bench Jay Cutler the next time he throws 3 picks in the first half of a football game. Did you see what it did for Vernon Davis in San Fran?
Is it possible to do worse than 5 picks a game? Oh, I forgot, Rex Gross-man!

I say they steal Mike Singletary from the 49ers. Lovie refuses to adapt his coaching to the players on the field

I will second Mike Shanahan. At the same time "the grass is always greener on the other side". For every positive we see in shanahan just remember that he was chased out of Denver for the same reasons we are chasing out Lovie.

Those bears Fans have a short memory. As bad as Dick Jauron was, lets not forget Dave Wannstedt -possibly the worst coach in Bear history. They admit we finally have a good coach in Lovie Smith and want to get rid of him because he does not fit their perceptions of fit and temperament? Maybe these so-called bears fans would be better served by moving to Tampa or Cleveland to be reminded of what ineptitude in leadership can do to a team. Fact is, we have too many players that are either overrated or over-the-hill for us to start blaming the coach for not winning.

In Dick Jauron and Lovie Smith, the Bears have had two of the most passive head coaches in recent memory. Naturally, Milton Waddams from Office Space is believed to lead a short list of possible candidates once Lovie is fired.
