I, for one, am a bit tired of Lovie “Rex Jay is our quarterback” Smith. I believe after our Super Bowl run, Smith has allowed this team to horrifically underachieve. While he should not shoulder all of the blame (calling Mr. Angelo), he should deservedly shoulder some of it. From his confusing personel moves (tell me again why Ron Rivera still isn’t here), to his ‘aw shucks’ demeanor, there needs to be changes up at Halas Hall. I can’t be the only one who sees Lovie as a darker Dick Jauron.

How about searching for a coach who resembles a former football player; someone who could squirt lemon juice in their eyes and laugh with the pain; someone who gains sustenance on the tears of young children; someone who rips the heads of puppies–okay scratch that; someone like Da Coach. That someone is Bill Cowher. Is that not the perfect fit for this team and this city? The permanent scowl, the barking, the CHIN, the tough as nails attitude that can actually get shit done. I nearly faint at the thought. It would be like the son we never had, coming home; Ditka’s nephew or something like that.

My inspiration for this came from listening to talk radio the other day. A reporter out of Hell Pittsburgh claims he talked to a guy who is Cowher’s neighbor, and has been for about ten years. He claims that Cowher told him that he’s ready to hop back into the NFL. Even if he isn’t, Angelo should be on him like flies on shit. There isn’t a coach out there who would better fit this city and the team.

If the Bears management knows what’s good for the team (probably not), they will do everything possible to plant Cowher’s chin at Soldier Field for a very, very long time. Or God help John Shoop when Angelo resurrects him from the grave.
