Shocker: Very Small Man Hurt By Much Bigger Men

The last post of the week: something to ponder as you await the certain couch slouch and booze binge of this weekend.

The NFL can be a really dangerous sport, so of course, I purposely sabotaged any chance that I’d ever belong in it years ago. And the danger component of it is heightened if you’re unable to see over your opponent, like Garrett Wolfe, who for the second year in a row is out for the season before it’s finished.

But please, try not to worry about the run game. Just have a good weekend.

Not The Acquisition I Would Be Wishing For

Detroit Lions wide receiver Mike Furrey has been told he’s not coming back to the team. Needless to say, Furrey isn’t upset…AT ALL. Since ousted Lions coach Rod Marinelli took the defensive line/assistant head coaching job with the Bears and Furrey played with Lovie Smith in St. Louis, some think Furrey to the Bears makes sense.

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, Kyle Orton’s AMAZING touchdown throw to Rashied Davis just ruined this entire post. I guess it doesn’t pay to start writing before the game is over, huh?

Short of drawing on manly stubble with a marker, outfitting him in Wrangler jeans, and teaching him how to speak with an oh-so-gentle southern draw, the Bears couldn’t have made Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan look more like Brett Favre today. (more…)
