I am stoked! The Bears signed quarterback Mike Teel. Let’s see, Cutler is starting and Hanie is the backup. We just drafted LeFevour, who should be our third-string QB. Mike Teel fits in where? He only survived three weeks with the Patriots this off-season, how is he worth signing? I guess competition for LeFevour to see how he performs, you know, push him to sink or swim.

Here is the deal: We don’t have time, nor always the will, to make a post out of every semi-significant Bears-related tidbit that hits the InterWeb. The Bears don’t care so much for Caleb Hanie anymore. What else could explain why — after deciding two quarterbacks would be just fine last season — they now inexplicably feel the need to search for a veteran? Ohhh. Maybe, it has something to do with Jay Cutler’s astronomical interception total? Either way, they could be looking at Josh McCown, who I’m told resembles Ivan Drago from Rocky IV.

So, as you may have heard, Peanut Tillman practiced for the first time with the team since his back surgery. It is still unknown whether or not he’ll play in Green Bay Sunday night. With four of their first five games against top level QB’s I’m pretty sure the Bears would welcome Tillman back. I’d rather not make Rodgers and Rothlisburger look like little Peyton Mannings out there, and with the 30th ranked pass defense last year … our secondary has nowhere to go but up. Right???????

Of course, it’s ridiculous. Right? RIGHT?!

As soon as Rex Grossman’s fourth down pass to Devin Hester fell incomplete, putting an end to any hope of a Bears comeback versus Tennessee, you had to know this would be coming.  

I mean, it’s no secret that when the starting quarterback is struggling, the back-up QB is the most popular man in town. Nobody knows this better than Bears fans. And when the starting QB is hurt and it’s the back-up that is struggling, well then, all of a sudden Caleb Hanie looks quite studly. (more…)
