This woman, named Jessie James, is apparently a country music singer. That’s nice. More significantly, she has this spread in Maxim magazine. Right now, she’s rumored to be dating Reggie Bush. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, though, James has also been “romantically linked to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.” And to that, we say, fuck professional athletes. (more…)

Despite the last two steaming piles the Bears have laid down, the division is still very much in reach if Aaron Rodgers and company can beat Minnesota this weekend. The Patriots are apparently close to a deal with free agent linebacker and former Detroit Lion Paris Lenon, and NOT Pisa Tinoisamoa. So now, the most ardent fan of some other team will inevitably become the proud owner of “I Want To Do Pisa Tinoisamoas Wife dot blogspot dot com.”
The Pats were expected to be the Bears’ biggest competitors for the services of the ex-Rams linebacker, assuming both teams wanted the 28-year old; New England obviously did not, the Bears do. Expect Tinoisamoa and his lovely bride to make their introductions into Halas Hall by early next week.
The girls of The Lingerie Football League’s Chicago Bliss want you to participate in Blog Down’s NFL Draft LiveTwitter this Saturday. Funny enough, they told me this four months from now while we we’re standing in the unemployment line.
Apparently, more than just my girlfriend and cubicle buddy read Blog Down, Chicago Bears, as it is a nominee in Zoner Sports‘ Best Sports Blog Name tourney. That’s right. 48 blogs were chosen, placed in respective regions, and seeded, much like another certain tournament going on at this very moment.
Blog Down is arbitrarily ranked as a #7 seed in the Granville Waiters region. Our first worthy opponent — in what appears to be a Bears vs. Bears face-off — is six-seeded Bear Goggles On. I’m not liking the match-up logistically, but given I just want to make it into the second round, vote, vote, and vote some more. Make sure to vote on all the matchups, too, not just ours. Together we can help shock the world!
As of 5:06 PM CST today, Bear Goggles has a hefty lead, 71 to 29%. Voting for the first round ends Sunday at 11:59 PM CST.
*Kim Kardashian won’t actually doing anything if you vote.
UPDATE: Blog Down has closed the deficit to 58 to 42% as of Friday, 12:00 AM CST.
Katie Stam, the newest Miss America, is apparently a huge Chicago Bears fan. I think what’s most impressive is she’s from Indiana and is thus willing to shun the home state Indianapolis Colts.
So while Peyton Manning may have come out on top in Super Bowl XLI, he’ll never have this chick on top of him.
It reads like a horror script to us Bears fans, but the fact it’s not is more alarming: right now, the Bears should be 6-0.
If that isn’t enough, The Fifth Down, the New York Times’ NFL blog, breaks down this disappointment by number.
Four minutes and eight points is what separates the Bears from total domination and their current three-way tie in the suddenly mediocre NFC North.
While we’re at it, let me throw another number at you: 10 — the number of games in the short season in which essentially only Green Bay, Minnesota, and Chicago really matter. But don’t worry Detroit, you’ve still got Roy Williams your new starting quarterback doesn’t take safeties without a fight a fighting chance eh…Barry Sanders.
