Now We Have James Marten All To Ourselves

This is a little late, but my apathetic coma just subsided. Yesterday, the Bears cut linebacker Cato June (we hardly knew ye!) and promoted tackle James Marten from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Wait … Isn’t that the same James Marten that the Raiders so inconsiderately swooped from us last year? HA! Take that, Al Davis. Your reign of excellence is over!

Oakland Raiders practice waiver wire thievery

To think, I rooted for the Raiders on Monday night as they were having their asses handed to them on an orange and blue platter by the surprising Broncos.

How come the shitty teams always get the perks? Well, you know, besides the thrill of victory.

Thanks to waiver rules, any player with less than four years of NFL experience who is released by another team will be essentially put up for grabs with first dibs determined by a team’s previous year’s win-loss record. (more…)
