Nathan Vasher Gone; We’re Still Awaiting Response From His Mother
Maybe the most disappointing aspect about the decision today to let go of Nathan Vasher is that we can no longer claim the mother of a Chicago Bear as one of our readers. (more…)

Clearly, we believe that we produce the best Chicago Bears content online. Period. We wouldn’t be doing this if we didn’t. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t read other sites or appreciate intelligent feedback from anyone with a pulse other Bears fans/sports fans in general. So try to imagine our glee when we seemingly received contact from Nathan Vasher’s mother, not once, but twice. (more…)
Clearly, the most rewarding part of penning a post entitled “The Rise And Fall Of Nate Vasher” would be seeing resiliency rewarded. And with that: just when you thought it was safe to write off Vasher for good … yes! yes! … well, he doesn’t suck as a free safety. No, no, that’s a really good thing! (more…)
So, the papers in Milwaukee have already started the mudslinging that will no doubt reach fever pitch by Sunday night. Oh No they didn’t!! (wags index finger) Oh yes they did. Of course they have to toot their own horn for the offense looking like a juggernaut during the preseason. Lets look at their preseason opponents shall we? Cleveland, Buffalo, Arizona, Tennessee. Only one of those games is worth noting: Tennessee, as they are the only team that has a defense to speak of. It’s also worth noting that it was the last preseason game in which Aaron Rodgers & Co. played for only a few minutes. Feel free to look at the stats here. (more…)

Five years ago, Nathan Vasher’s career with the Chicago Bears seemed bright and unbounded. He was a recent fourth-round draft pick, many considered him a steal, and even more were infatuated with the video making rounds on YouTube featuring him blowing up an oblivious Carlos Francis. So, how does it get to the point where a mere five years later, anticipation is no longer forming in regard to his star potential, but instead, for his final days with the club in which it all started? (more…)
It’s a road bump for the resurgence of Nathan Vasher, but in a telling sign of the confidence Zack Bowman has earned from coaches, he will start at right cornerback upon his return from a pulled hamstring. (more…)
The following suggests the Bears trade for Anquan Boldin by offering Nathan Vasher, a 2010 second-round pick and a 2010 fifth-round pick in return. Please respond accordingly.
Drew Rosenhaus’ twitter account is slowly becoming one of my favorites to follow–until it becomes my least favorite to follow. You have to admire someone, even as unabashed as Drew, who continues to find new, somewhat-entertaining vehicles for promoting his clients.
Yesterday, fit somewhere in Rosenhaus’ regular tri-hourly updates, was a little blurb regarding the expected whereabouts of Anquan Boldin in 2009: (more…)
Whether you liked him or loathed him, the point is mute.
It took Rex Grossman all but a handful of horrific performances and one memorable Super Bowl dud to play his way out of Chicago. He could surely refine his mechanics, regain his confidence and play well again; it’ll just be for some other team in some other city.
Nate Vasher, on the other hand, would be a surprise departure two years ago. The last two years have been hell for ‘The Interceptor’ as he’s played in only 12 games due to sporadic injuries to his groin, hand, thumb and shoulder.
Vasher, 27, has all the tools to still be a playmaker somewhere else; he’ll just need to stay healthy. His cap number for this year is somewhere around $2.9 million and letting him walk should free up cash to be better spent elsewhere. (more…)
You know, they don’t call Nate Vasher the interceptor for nothing. Those genital warts were meant for A-Rod.

Take a good look at the photograph to your right. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think so?
I’m sure if the Detroit Lions realized how little the fortunes of the franchise would be swayed by the four gentlemen standing here in 2004, they probably would have skipped the press conference all together.
Now, four years later and with only the two guys holding jerseys still left in the NFL, the Bears travel to the Motor City to take on the Lions in their first matchup of 2008. (more…)
