Year after year, we’ve watched while the Bears did nothing in free agency. There is an old adage and I believe it goes something like: don’t give me Brandon Lloyd and tell me he’s T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Bad example, maybe. But, the Bears did something remarkable last year, something they never do — instigated a blockbuster trade. Torry Holt wants to play in Chicago. He feels confident he can show the current “guys how to run [Martz'] system, efficiently, effectively and consistently.” On a side note, Holt’s finger is bent disgustingly, unnaturally and extra-terrestrially.
If only because: this is the third anniversary of one of the most depressing days of my young life, the offseason thus far has been unconvincing, and the decline of the Bears since the 2006 season has been so abrupt, I’m pretty excited to hear today that Devin Hester “would love to get back in that situation with the return game.” (more…)

Look no further for a coach; the Chicago Bears finally have their man! Uh … er, for the offensive line, anyway. The always seafaring Mike Tice is leaving his assistant head coach/tight ends coach position in Jacksonville to do only half that much in Chicago. And I like! If he treats the O-line anything like he treats these four … well, maybe that isn’t the best route to go. (more…)
What a game.
Everyone knows what my thought process was going into the game. I wanted the Bears to win oh so badly, but I also attempted to keep myself rooted in reality. My friend, on the other hand, was pulling (and rather staunchly) for the upset win. I attempted to bring him back to Earth, but it didn’t work. I loved the seats we had (sec. 430, 14 rows up). Looking at the stadium map, they look awful. But, as you can see from the view, it offered a great vantage point to watch the plays develop.
It’s really too bad that the Bears were able to finally land in Baltimore. BTW – 125 work-release inmates helped 700 other workers clear the snow from M&T Bank Stadium. Nothing says Christmas drunk like orange jumpsuits.
Moving along…
If just for a minute, you would be willing to put aside your contempt for trimmed jorts, maddening indecisiveness and oh-gee-golly vernacular, you would surely find that Brett Favre is simply misunderstood. And this newfound reverence toward Favre has absolutely nothing to do with his recent comments calling Jay Cutler “damn good”. Okay, so it has everything to do with that. (more…)
