When I was nine-years old, my father surprised me with a trip to Louisville Gardens — I lived in Fort Knox, Kentucky at the time — to watch the Washington Wizards Bullets and Chicago Bulls play in an exhibition; my first-ever professional basketball game. As luck would have it, just weeks before, Michael Jordan had called it quits and just days before, Scottie Pippen had gotten hurt.
