Bears Lose Coin Toss, Will Never Participate In Draft Again

by Shea Johnson on Friday 26 February 2010 at 1:15 pm

By virtue of a coin flip, the Bears lost out on the number 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft this morning, conceding  it to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Understandably upset, the Bears will now have to wait until the 11th overall selection before watching Denver go on the clock.

Josh Bullocks Involved In Pyramid Scheme (Update)

by Shea Johnson on Tuesday 25 August 2009 at 4:10 pm

UPDATE: Neither of the three players are suspects.

NFL twins Daniel and Josh Bullocks (obviously, no longer a Saint) do everything together. And, when they add Chiefs linebacker Demorrio Williams to the fold, they own Williams & Bullocks, a successful company of some sort. It’s just a shame that their partner in the company and the one who manages it, Mary Wong, did some things that caused Michael Vick to sue Williams & Bullocks back in January. But, hey, at least they’re not part of a Ponzi scheme … Damn you, Miss Wong!

Already In Headband Hall Of Fame, Jim McMahon’s Dad Thinks Son Deserves More

by Shea Johnson on Wednesday 29 October 2008 at 7:11 pm

In a letter brought to our attention by Salt Lake Tribune writer Nate Carlisle, Jim McMahon, Sr. spills his heart juices and thus gives reasonable argument to why his son Jim McMahon deserves to be in the BYU Hall of Fame.

At one point in the letter — coincidentally sent to, and published by, the Salt Lake Tribune – McMahon, Sr. calls the whole ordeal a “miscarriage of justice” and subsequentially shames the Mormon church.

Awww, Senior. Regardless whatever happens with this, you’re still the World’s Greatest Solicitator Over 70 of Entry Into An Exclusive Club or Prestige.

Oakland Raiders practice waiver wire thievery

by Shea Johnson on Tuesday 9 September 2008 at 12:12 pm

To think, I rooted for the Raiders on Monday night as they were having their asses handed to them on an orange and blue platter by the surprising Broncos.

How come the shitty teams always get the perks? Well, you know, besides the thrill of victory.

Thanks to waiver rules, any player with less than four years of NFL experience who is released by another team will be essentially put up for grabs with first dibs determined by a team’s previous year’s win-loss record. (more…)
