Nathan Vasher Gone; We’re Still Awaiting Response From His Mother
Maybe the most disappointing aspect about the decision today to let go of Nathan Vasher is that we can no longer claim the mother of a Chicago Bear as one of our readers. (more…)

The last post of the week; something to ponder as you await the certain couch slouch and booze binge of the weekend.
Look no further for a coach; the Chicago Bears finally have their man! Uh … er, for the offensive line, anyway. The always seafaring Mike Tice is leaving his assistant head coach/tight ends coach position in Jacksonville to do only half that much in Chicago. And I like! If he treats the O-line anything like he treats these four … well, maybe that isn’t the best route to go. (more…)
This is a little late, but my apathetic coma just subsided. Yesterday, the Bears cut linebacker Cato June (we hardly knew ye!) and promoted tackle James Marten from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Wait … Isn’t that the same James Marten that the Raiders so inconsiderately swooped from us last year? HA! Take that, Al Davis. Your reign of excellence is over!
And we’re gleeful, indeed. We’ve been praying for a second opportunity to show this picture, and knew it would come one way or another. Sadly, it’s because Malast was just added to the practice squad, and not because he finally came clean about that one time at Rutgers when he impregnated the daughter of an angry witch doctor his head was shrunken through some, no doubt, hilarious means.
Indicating that Lance Briggs’ knee injury is probably more serious than not, the Bears have added former Colts linebacker Cato June to their waning defense. And sure, he played in Tampa and Houston too, but just like when someone passes, you only talk about the good.
The world is coming to an end. No, not really, but the decision to once again cut Brandon Rideau goes to show what we already knew: the Bears don’t know anything about wide receivers. (more…)
It wasn’t a coincidence that just two days ago he put up his Lake Forest home for sale. Rex Grossman has found new work, finally, and it’s with the Houston Texans.
Grossman and the Texans have agreed to a one-year deal worth the league minimum of $745,000. He has a good shot to supplant both Dan Orlovsky and Alex Brink immediately as the back-up to starting quarterback Matt Schaub.
Newly-acquired Bears linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa sure is glad to be a part of a winning team for a change. But, he seems most excited about working with the legendary, Brian Urlacher.
“When I came to my visit he said [hello] to me and he knew my name, I was like, ‘Wow, that’s Brian Urlacher. He called me by my first name.”
Tinoisamoa went on to say that Urlacher signed his jersey after practice and recorded the outgoing message on his cell.
It was evident from the beginning that Torry Holt wanted to play for a winner. So, it’s no surprise, really, his choice is… Jacksonville. Really?
Holt was the one free agent wide receiver the Bears would conceivably sign that represented a considerable upgrade to their current corps. And after Jerry Angelo pulled the trigger on the Jay Cutler trade, fans were hopeful he would have enough post-high gall to go get Holt.
If a Cutler throws a ball and there is no one to catch it, did he ever really throw the ball?
It’s been a hell of a week. So much so, that I need to go away for a while and reflect. But, in case you didn’t know: The Bears traded for QB Jay Cutler. Look it up somewhere, and I’ll be back in a week and a half.
In the second stunning move in as many days, ESPN is reporting that the Giants have parted ways with their troubled number-one receiver.
Burress has been inactive all offseason, and is currently facing weapons charges, and possible jail time, stemming from a November nightclub incident in which he…Shot himself. In. The. Fucking. Leg. (more…)
Forget for a minute about sizing up his football skill, how well he’ll fit into Josh McDaniel’s offensive scheme, or the fact that he apparently made the Jay Cutler trade. Kyle Orton is the man, and it has nothing to do with football. (more…)
